The first 10 second video of my dog, "baxter the boxer" was filmed using the Sony kit lens without the macro filter. After I spotted the lady bug, I went inside and got the macro filter for the rest of the video. macro filter is the best investment I've made for this camera compared to the 0 macro lens from Sony (i am sure it's nicer but why spend 0 when u can get almost the same for ?!). With the filter, I am able to take videos and images of subjects up close, the filter set comes with +1, +2, +4, and +10 filter, I used the +10 for this video. I changed the setting for AF area to 'spot' instead of the default of 'wide' and I changed my exposure comp to +1 and the creative style to 'vivid' I made 'vivid' my default settings for everything. I used Sony's PMB and combined the two videos together. If you don't have this option you will need to update your PMB to the latest version on Sony's support site.
